Full day excursion
Visits:
- Petra tou Romiou
- Kouklia - Sanctuary of Aphrodite

Today’s excursion will go along the south coast of the island. The breathtaking coastline of Petra tou Romiou will be the first stop: the legendary birthplace of the goddess of fertility, Aphrodite. A stop here is without any doubt a must. This has been regarded as the gateway to Paphos for centuries!
The next stop will be Kouklia. Here stood the famous sanctuary of Aphrodite, the most ancient remains of which date back to the 12th century B.C. The glorious days of the sanctuary lasted until the 3rd to the 4th centuries. The museum, housed in a Lusignan Manor, exhibits many interesting finds from the area.
Paphos, founded in the 4th century B.C. by the last king of the city kingdom of Palaepaphos and thanks to its natural harbour, soon became the capital of Cyprus during the Hellenistic and Roman periods and is featured on the World Cultural Heritage List of UNESCO since 1980.
The first stop in Paphos will be next to the picturesque harbour, where the residences of the Roman capital were located including that of the Roman Proconsu l with their outstanding floor mosaics recounting the stories from Greek Mythology: The House of Dionysos, Aion, Orpheus and the Villa of Theseus.
Thereafter the participants will be guided on to the impressive necropolis, the so-called Tombs of the Kings, with its most interesting architecture evoking and element of mysticism.
At the end of the visits free time and lunch will be offered.
The following services are included:
